DeWayne Bryant Etheridge was born August 28, 1980 in Washington D.C., DeWayne fell in love with writing and movies at the young age of five years old. He began writing stories in elementary school ranging from action adventure to horror. DeWayne wrote a scary story in the fifth grade entitled “Slaughter House”. DeWayne attended Nativity catholic school in North West D.C. at the time and his story was read all over the school. He received a very good grade on his story and went on to write more stories. As a child DeWayne watched a lot of television and movies. Some of his favorite films as a child were D.C. Cab, Doctor Detroit, The Blues Brothers, Class Of 1984, and Super Man three. Growing up DeWayne’s favorite subjects in school were English and Writing. He would go on to writing poetry and other short stories. DeWayne graduated from Largo High School in 1999 and was not sure what career path to take. He decided to pursue a career as a video music director but quickly changed his mind. DeWayne then decided that he would combine his love of movies and writing and become a filmmaker. DeWayne started attending classes at a Local cable access channel called CTV in Mitchellville MD 2002.

Upon completion of his classes at CTV DeWayne set out to begin writing his first screenplay, a romantic comedy called Running Game. He never finished writing that screenplay but decided to move into the horror genre instead. After attending a cook out at his cousin Paul’s house DeWayne was inspired to write a horror film centered around a house and with an all-African American cast. The screenplay was originally titled House of Pain and was completed in 2003.

DeWayne then set out to begin production on his first feature film. After many cast changes and other problems production on “House of Pain” was complete in 2004. Post production was never completed on the film and DeWayne soon decided to move to Charlotte N.C. in 2005. DeWayne decided to step away from filmmaking for a number of years but the passion that he had for it never went away. DeWayne decided to come back to filmmaking in 2012 and rewrote, recast, and reshot what is now known as “House of Terror”. DeWayne has written four other featured film screenplays including the zombie film “Dewayne Etheridge Presents: The Dead Don't Die”, the sexy drama “Trading Partners”, and the action film “Dead Sexy Assassin”. His debut film is now available on DVD and he doesn’t plan on stopping there. DeWayne wants other independent filmmakers to use his story as inspiration to not let anything stop them in their pursuit of their dreams of becoming a filmmaker.
